Spiritual Hyperopia with Jennifer Roach
What is spiritual hyperopia? Elder Renlund recently spoke about this and Jennifer breaks it down for us. When we over spiritualize things, or look beyond the mark, we can become so heavenly or spiritually minded that we miss out on the gospel basics or the tasks in front of us that need our attention. Jennifer explains myopia vs. hyperopia, and how to find that sweet spiritual middle ground.

- Excavation on the temple’s north and south sides was completed.
- Complete the Church Office Building Plaza, with an expected late-fall finish date.

- Waterproofing and heating conduit were installed along the Church Office Building plaza, with new paving work started. (New sign)
- Construction on the three additional lower floors of the temple’s north-side addition began. The addition will include two baptistries, sealing rooms, dressing rooms and administrative offices.
- Excavation completed in the northwest corner of Temple Square, for future gardens providing a place for peaceful contemplation. (RIP Space Jesus)
- Begin additional work on some of the areas surrounding Temple Square, including previously announced renovations to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, Beehive House and Lion House.
- Continue construction of the guest experience pavilions south of the temple. (Replica ordinance rooms)
- Temporarily close the Assembly Hall as the facilities and wall on the southwest corner of Temple Square are removed.
- Install structural steel frames inside the Salt Lake Temple’s tower spires.
