Whitney Johnson currently works at Brigham Young University (BYU) as the Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development, Diversity and Inclusion. There she dedicates her time to empowering student-athletes to excel in their current roles and prepare for future success, and works to create environments where students, coaches, and administrators can thrive. Prior to working at BYU, Johnson served as the Programming Specialist with the NCAA Leadership Development team, and previously worked as a member of the Excellence Academy staff within the athletics department at Indiana University (IU). Johnson played collegiate basketball and received degrees from both the University of New Mexico (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership) and Southern Utah University (Master of Business Administration). She is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a church mission in Mexico City for a year and half. Johnson loves social outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, rock climbing, and cliff-jumping, and wishes she had more time to spend lazy afternoons pouring over fantasy books.
