From the Deseret News-

Utah gun rights activist Janalee Tobias said she held a .22-caliber pistol cloaked in a stuffed toy puppy — the puppy pistol — and fed it bullets shaped like crayons to kill the bad guys.

Then she sang a song to the tune of “Stayin’ Alive” and later sang, “If you’re happy and you know it shoot your gun, bang bang.”

Tobias admits she was punked by comedian and actor Sacha Baron Cohen for his upcoming Showtime series “Who Is America?” and joins the likes of other conservatives, such as former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, defeated Senate candidate Roy Moore and former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Notes:

In the first block, we meet Janalee Tobias. She is a “gun enthusiast” and also the mother of Sister Tobias, who shared her mission with followers of The Cultural Hall back in 2012. Janalee was recently punked by Sacha Baron Cohen on his TV show. Janalee tells us about her history with gun rights advocacy and she and Richie discuss issues around the debate over gun rights and gun control. They discuss the issues in a rational and civil manner, something you don’t hear very much these days in our polarized political climate.

In the second block, Janalee recounts her experience with appearing Sacha’s TV show. She was contacted by the show since she has been active in promoting women’s gun rights. They wanted her to appear with Israeli Armed Forces to discuss gun safety for Israeli children. Janalee even brought materials from the NRA’s Eddie Eagle Gunsafe program to use on the show. After vetting the show, she agrees to appear. She tells about her experience with the show, beginning with the sketchy travel arrangements they made for her. She goes into the deception and pressure used by the show, including a fake story about a 3 year old Israeli boy who had a gun in his backpack and was able to save his classmates. All of this led up to her doing some things on the show that she would not do in normal situations. They finish with the three questions asked of everyone who steps into The Cultural Hall.
