Back in 2006 when I started attending BYU I felt strongly impressed to look into the Broadcast Journalism Major.  I felt Heavenly Father was guiding me to create some sort of video resource.  About two weeks before the age change announcement my wife Rebecca and I felt that I needed to quit my job and create resources for future missionaries. Aside from feeling inspired to take on this project, I wish there had been more resources when I prepared to serve my mission.

Notes:

In the first block, we meet Alex Balinski and he tells us a little about his background, including how he met his wife and about his missionary service in Argentina. Alex and Richie share some mission experiences.

In the second block, Alex tells us about his education and work history that led him to Lifey Missions, including how a chance encounter helped get him on the path. He tells us about what we can find on the site. Lifey Missions includes lots of information on the missions and missionary prep, including video interviews with missionaries. He also discusses Lifey and a Lifey app he developing with video answers to questions. Lifey is a “video selfie” that allows you to save your stories.

In the third block Alex talks about his standards for media that he consumes and answers the three questions asked of everyone who steps into The Cultural Hall.
