Brian Whitney earned a BA in history from Weber State University and is currently applying for graduate school. He has interned for the LDS Church History Department as a research assistant and spent the summer of 2014 in Nauvoo as a historic site interpreter and research fellow at the Joseph Smith Historic Site operated by the Community of Christ (RLDS). In addition to perusing graduate studies, Brian is also a history editor and publicist for Greg Kofford Books, and is currently co-editing David O. McKay’s office diaries. He has presented research at the John Whitmer Historical Association, Mormon Scholars in the Humanities, and Sunstone Symposium. Brian is also in the process of writing Mormonism In Context, a website geared towards a contextual approach to historical topics related to Mormonism. He lives in Brigham City, UT, with his wife and four children.
