10 – Janae really is that happy. And kind-hearted. She once stopped by my house to see how I was doing because she was near my neighborhood and couldn’t stand the thought of being within a half mile of where I live and not checking in. We sat and talked on my porch.
9 – Lindsay and her husband are perfectly matched on the attractiveness scale.
8 – The Wife of the Party (Larissa) throws the best parties, and has a beautiful smile. If you meet her, be friends. She makes it easy.
7 – Rob is more than a DJ. He is loyal and open-hearted. He is safe to voice concerns around without judgement. Also, he is a very a good DJ. You should see him teaching children to Whip and Ne-Ne.
6 – Brandt can impart more stimulating conversation through text than most people can face to face. And he’s pretty tall.
5 – Not everyone loves lists.
4 – Kyle doesn’t want me to tell you that he is actually a selfless tender-heart. So I won’t. He is a jerk. He is such a jerk that he sends me messages regularly to check on my physical and mental health, always asking how he can help.
3 – Jenny/Molly is a warrior and loves fiercely. She will fight for her kids, her friends, her faith, her gender, her health, and herself. She gives even when she’s hurting. Also, girl got soul.
2 – Richie is a visionary and a hard-worker. He’s scrappy and savvy, and pushes others, as well as himself, to be more than they currently are. Richie took a chance on a nobody who wanted to be part of the team, and let me grow into The Cultural Hall family.
1 – We are, both those I mentioned and many I didn’t, a kind of family. We listen to and support each other, inside and outside of The Hall. That’s why I know they will continue to support me as I step away from The Cultural Hall. I’m removing myself as host and contributor, but not as friend. The last episode I attended was in November, wherein I stated that my doctor strongly suspected I have Late Stage Lyme Disease. That suspicion was confirmed through blood test, and I have since begun a rigorous treatment plan. My body is at war. Physically, neurologically, and emotionally, I am functioning at low power. At this stage, I am, sadly, eliminating all non-vital activities and focusing fully on recovery, which will be a long road. I am grateful to panel-members, listeners, and readers alike for letting me into your lives. Being a part of the show has taught me, grown me, and mostly, brought me some really beautiful people.
My love to you. See you on the back row.
