    • Saratoga Springs Utah Temple
      • First Interior Photos released

        • Why have a media day?

        • Have church officials on hand to answer questions, give interviews
        • Most people in Utah are already familiar with temples. 
        • Because the Last Utah open house was in 2018, It was decided to have a 3 month open house to encourage those on summer vacation to come/invite friends. (Ends July 8)

  • Salt Lake Temple 
    • 3 reasons why the Salt Lake Temple Won’t be done until 2026.
      • The pandemic and accompanying supply chain disruptions and labor shortages.
        • Takes 6-12 months to get forklifts to move base isolators 
      • The unique seismic, structural work.
        • Tall, unreinforced structure, had to dig by hand 
      • Unforeseen conditions found in the excavation of the pioneer-era foundation.
        • Foundation from the 1800s and the renovation from the 1960s was not in as good a condition as they thought. (Large gaps)
        • Slowed down because “the foundation’s condition didn’t allow for modern equipment to bore into it. So jack-and-bore became jack-and-dig-by-hand.”
    • Renovation is now about 50% completed. Now they are starting to build up, rather than take off. Base isolators installed, concrete trucks rolling in.
