Darran Scott-
Darran Scott was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and attended high school at Dandenong Technical College. He began making short films at a young age, beginning with ‘Surfed Out’ and ‘Nullabor Madness’. As an actor he has appeared in many Australian TV shows as Special Squad, Carson’s Law, The Henderson Kids and the World War I mini-series Anzacs. He studied film via various courses provided by VCA, AFTRS and Melbourne University. In the mid 90s Scott became a freelance news and current affairs cameraman, initially under contact to GTV9, before working for all major networks. Scott was the recipient of the 2008 Antenna Award’ for Most Outstanding Sports Program for his TV series ‘The Surfers Life’. He won an Australian Film Institute Award as part of the ‘Reinventing The Reel’ Festival for ‘Another Ordinary Day’ (2001). His 2003 film ‘A World of His Own’ was accepted into several international short film festivals. In 2009 he founded Shearwater Entertainment with a business partner. A feature film and television production company. In 2011 Shearwater began production on the inspirational sports drama The Playbook, which he wrote, directed and Produced, and which was released to theatres across Australia in July 2013 by Heritage Films. It was released onto DVD in Australia in November 2013 with a release into North American theatres in mid 2015 through CMD Distribution. The film was moderately successful and has also been released into South Africa, Benelux, Scandinavia, Poland, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil. It screened on Australian Pay TV (Australian Christian Channel) in March 2014. In 2015 Scott will direct ‘The Spirit of the Game’ for Momo Films from a script that he wrote. He will also Executive Produce. He has been commissioned to adapt two novels into screenplays, which he will direct and also produce. He founded the clothing brand Pelvic Thrust in the mid 90s which helped to fund his filmmaking activities.
Niquelle Cassador-
Many members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been honored to attend The United States Military Academy at West Point. But only after a policy change in the 1970s could cadets leave school, usually after their “Yearling” or sophomore year, to serve full-time missions for their church. Since enrollment was opened to women in 1976, dozens of LDS women have also graduated from this challenging college experience. To date, approximately 200 cadets have joined the distinguished family of missionaries. But every single one has entered the mission field with the title of “Elder”. Soon, one cadet will make history with something else printed on the iconic black name tag — “Sister.” On Sept. 2, 2015, Niquelle Cassador of Gig Harbor, Washington, will enter the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, and become the first female cadet to depart the prestigious program for a mission.

I’m Susie and I love/obsess over all things grilled. My love affair with fire started in the 90’s when I used to sneak into my siblings’ rooms and light their incense with the lighters they hid in their dressers. It grew with the middle school scented candles phase (to this day the smell of vanilla makes me want to paint my toenails and listen to The Ataris and Hoobastank). It finally culminated into a real passion for the flame when, as an adult, I realized that I was capable of harnessing the heat to prepare my meals. After getting my first grill 2 years ago, I have learned that not only is fire awesome, it makes food taste ridiculously amazing.
I’ve always loved to cook, but getting the courage to leave the kitchen and head for the patio changed the way I looked at food. Everything went from, “I could probably make that recipe” to… “How can I cook this on the grill?!” I’ve taken all of the steps and learned all of the hard lessons about outdoor cooking so you don’t have to. Follow my guides to grilling and become master of the outdoor domain. From steaks to salads, every recipe I post on this site has been cooked, consumed, and captured on camera by your’s truly. It has also been certified delicious by my super qualified taste testing team which includes (but is not limited to): my husband, my 3 kids, my mom, dad, brothers, sisters, and any neighbor within range when I’ve got more food than I can consume without needing to have my stomach pumped. If it’s not good, you won’t see it on this site (unless it was a major fail because I really like to laugh, especially at myself).
