TCHP-LettersFromTheField

Hello my little whippersnapper friends! 🙂

This week was a little slower because of the freezing coldness, but lots of good news happened!  I know it’s super lame to talk about the WEATHER in a missionary email when there are so many other wonderful things to mention…but it’s kinda worthwhile to mention since it was a big part of the week.  It was -20 below last Friday!! Honestly, I’ve never felt so cold before!  I’m so grateful to have a car to work in! 😀

Okay, I’m going to start off with my highlights!! 🙂  President Jergensen called me Saturday to be a new trainer!!!! It’s official!!  Oh I am so excited 🙂 🙂 🙂 I am trying to figure out if I want to work her to death on the first day to get her in the right mind set of being a hard working missionary, or just to be nice and take things slow! 🙂  I have some good pranks lined up for her already though (including members pretending to be really rough investigators) so I hope she has a good sense of humor! 😉  But I really can’t wait to have a chance to love and serve someone to an even greater extent!!

We had exchanges with Spanish sisters.  They taught me so much…wow!  One of my favorite lessons was with our investigator named Karen Perry.  She is a SUPER sensitive person and will adopt any kind of living creature regardless of what kinds of odd problems they have.  She has 7 cats, 3 dogs, and takes care of like 10 others!  Haha!  🙂  But she has a really hard time forgiving herself and feeling God’s love and concern for her.  She won’t believe that she’s good enough for the church because she has a lot of quirks and she’s different than everyone else.  We asked her if she turned animals down if they have weird quirks at the pound.  She obviously said no. We then promised her that Heavenly father is like her…he sees people’s differences and oddities and loves them for those reasons!  He created us individually.  He knows our personalites, and he made us different for a reason!! Then we assured her that Heavenly Father wants to adopt us into His Kingdom no matter what kind of a person we are.  He is always offering us a place away from the shelters and pounds we are living in currently.  But it’s hard to trust that a new home will be better than the place you are living at now.  She explained that it how she felt, and that’s how she see’s her animals react when they enter into a new home…helpless and anxious.  But once they are there they never want to go back.  I testified of Heavenly Father’s desire for her to be baptized so that she could enter into His Kingdom and feel his love even greater.  She felt His love for her.  I felt His love for her through the Holy Ghost and It made me SOOOO HAPPY TO BE A MISSIONARY to remind someone of their individual worth!! 🙂

The pictures: We went Bowling on PDay!! (The first PDAY I’ve had all transfer! Haha after moving and everything!)  Notice how silly we look in our missionary outfits with the shoes… 😉
And transfers!! My district was SOOO FUNNY this transfer!  We sang “There is Sunshine in My Soul Today” every meeting! 🙂  The SUNSHINE district!!!
And Whitey’s…the famous ice cream store in the Midwest…only in IOWA!!!  But distributed worldwide… 🙂  Didn’t eat any ice cream, but it’s sure a cute place! hehe 😉

Love you all sooo much!  Hope your week is blessed and holy!

Sister Tobias 🙂

P.S.   THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
