pant-suits-for-women

As you are all aware, Sunday was designated for our sisters as “Wear Pants to Church Day”. I first read about it here. I’m curious what participation, if any, everyone got in their respective wards. I’ll give you my report.

I live on the south end of Salt Lake valley and attend a ward where about 350 attend regularly. Sunday was our Christmas program so I don’t know if that affected anything. I didn’t see any women in pants and I didn’t see any purple ties or ribbons on the men. I did see some bow ties but they were worn by men who normally wear bow ties. I also checked one of the other wards in the building and didn’t see anything.

My sister who lives in Utah County didn’t see any women in pants. Another sister lives on the east end of the valley and she saw one woman in pants but she’s not sure if that’s normal attire. She will check next week. A brother of mine lives pretty much in the same stake as me and he didn’t see anything.

Finally, a report from my oldest brother. He lives a few miles from me. He said he had a dual farewell today so it was like stake conference. He didn’t see any women in pants but he did see a man wearing a purple ribbon. So, in five wards we saw one purple ribbon.

I’m curious if any folks out there saw greater participation in their wards?

No pants in our ultra-conservative ward. I was helping in the genealogy library and not able to attend RS to know if there was a discussion or not. It was an incredibly spiritual day.

No pants in my Indiana ward. Not even on the couple of women who sometimes wear them. There was one boy with a purple tie…the same one he wears every week. Fairly boring “protest” it appears.

None in my ward in So. Utah County, but I didn’t expect there would be.

I saw some women wear pants on Temple Square after the Christmas show.

i saw one woman wearing a pair of dark purple pants. she is from another ward that attends in my building and i do not know her personally, but i am pretty sure she was participating in the “pants to church sunday” because that kind of thing doesnt really happen around here 😉 the only time you might see pants in sacrament is non or new members.
