Woah. I had lunch with an apostle of the Lord this Week! Elder Don R. Clarke of the Seventy came to our mission!!!!!!!! I have never received so much revelation in my life!! He has a hilarious sense of humor, which was super suprising! We were all like, “Wait a second? I thought a representative of the Lord was supposed to be really serious and make us cry?” Hehe but he definitely showed us that you can be funny and in tune with the spirit at the same time. 🙂 He made all of the senior, married missionaries stand up and kiss each other and he said, “Now. You better do that 10 times everyday.” Then one of the old couples said, “Oh, ya mean we have to cut back to ten???!” I love the senior couples, they are adorable!
The mission tour was in Iowa City and I learned so much I don’t know where to start! He taught us to always be happy, but never content. Then he told us we should never teach with our hands in our pockets, but always reaching out with confidence. He also told us to address people as “Sir and Ma’am” like the way southerners talk. So cute! 🙂 He really made sure he told us how important it is not to treat your investigators as numbers, but to teach them as if you were teaching your own family members if they didn’t have the gospel… because everyone is someone else’s family member who needs to hear it. 🙂
There were no more chairs left by the time I got my GF, corn, and milk free lunch, and when I was looking around, I saw Elder Clark and his wife. They motioned towards us to come sit by him! I was thinking “Oh my goodness! I can’t do that! I’m not worthy to sit by such a holy person!!” But they were so nice to us… 🙂 Hahaha he even told me that I ate too slowly. Cute! 🙂
We had an amazing Sunday…again!!! We’re teaching an entire family and they came to church! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 And Ken came and LOVED it! He said that the children in the sacrament meeting were like cooing doves and it makes him feel peaceful. I started to cry! Because so many people hate how noisy our sacrament is, but he just totally changed his attitude! 🙂 We are getting so many people to teach, it’s insane. We have no time! But I love it. Every week is improving more and more!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
