Josh Maready. One of the first “I’m a Mormon” video campaign subjects…but you can’t find the video anymore.

Is it because he left the LDS Church? Nope. In fact he just published a book called Mission: The True Story of a Mormon Missionary

Josh by trade is a photographer, skateboarder, and one of the most passionate guys about the gospel. You may have seen one of his videos without even knowing that it was Josh, or that he was Mormon.

  • Nancy Beck says:

Josh, are you aware of the difficult issues in the church? I had a rock solid testimony for 62 years, but when I did the research I realized the church isn’t what it claims.

  • Josh are you aware that there are Church academics that have looked at the “difficult issues in the church?” and still continue to have “rock sold testimonies” because they believe that continued revelation from prophet seers and revelators, reserves the right to CHANGE, clarifying that “The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet”. Crazy how people continue to live in the past, rather understand that the church has, and will continue to evolve because of revelation. IT JUST MAKES SENSE.

  • Your Mom... maybe says:

Richie, this is one of my favorite episodes ever. Josh is the real deal and, in my opinion, truly represents the church. The church is NOT about culture — graduate high school, go on a mission, come home, get married, have kids, blah, blah, blah. It’s NOT about policy changes, corporations, appearances, conspiracies, etc. It’s about imperfect people coming to Christ and trying to emulate His example.

Those who judge the church by the individual will ALWAYS find fault. Part of mortality is dealing with our imperfect nature. However, those who look into the church seeking the teachings of Christ will find what they are looking for.

Josh is a true “member missionary” because of the way he is living his life and I have the utmost respect for him He is someone I want to support and I will be buying his book!
