Dearest Missed Family and Friends!
SUPER FUN WEEK!!! Last night all six of us missionaries taught about 150 youth/parents at a fireside! We taught them how to be spiritually prepared when someone gets in your face and questions you about our church. We also discussed ways to be a better member missionary. THose ideas are attatched! I know that we made an impact on missionary work for these youth and we hope we broke the stigma on being “afraid” to share the gospel.
Sister N. and I prayed over a street to go find someone and guess what? WE FOUND SOMEONE!! This man’s name is Steve, and he seems super prepared to recieve the gospel. He lost his job, he got his license taken away from drunk driving, and he just got divorced. He practically cried on the doorstep when we told him about the Book of Mormon. If only he’ll return our phone calls… But we’ve seen him twice and he always seems interested. The street name we found him on was WILLSHIRE!!!! Mom, if you get a cat when I’m gone will you please name him WILLSHIRE!!! hehe I always want to remember him! Hahahah
This week we got a visit from the mission President and his Wife!! WOW! They are like Royals!! And President J. is such a jolly fellow and treats his wife like a pristine queen! (Which…she is!) They made me feel so good and gave the BEST training about the purpose of life. Only our church holds the Priesthood Keys to “Gather Scattered Israel.” In Bible Dictionary under “Ephraihm” it explains that we all have the blessed oppurtunity to find the lost tribes of Isreal and bring them back to God. Out of all of the churches in the world…I know that this is the only true restored Gospel of Jesus Christ because of this prophecy being fulfilled! We are out here on missions to baptise people in order for them to enter back into the presence of Heavenly Father. I’m not on a mission JUST to plant seeds. I’m out here to REAP! Sure, it’ll happen as a side effect, but God wants all of his children baptised through the correct authority of God so that they can progress into heaven! Anyways. It was an epiphany and it really strengthened my testimony!
My trainer was asked by the President if I had taught any lessons on the Commandments yet. She smiled and said, “Umm…We haven’t taught the Law Of Chastity yet…and that worries me because she still won’t say the word, “*ex.” He got a kick out of that and said, “I’m going to make her teach the district that lesson before we get out of here!” Hehe We gave a training…but it wasn’t about that…thank goodness! It was about Asking inspired Questions!!
We had an amazing lesson with Diana J.!!! Even though she told us her husband won’t let her get baptised until her kids are 18, we felt guided to talk to her about fasting. We told her that we aren’t going to tell her which decision to make, but to ask God which the best decision would be. She knows it’s true. In fact, she said, “I’m not going to read any other books until I finish the Book of Mormon!” She told us that she would fast for her husband’s heart to be softened. What amazing faith!! Gaaa!! I love this family so much! And little Nolan always runs to listen to our lessons, but he can’t anymore. It’s pretty sad, but he’d join in a heartbeat if he could!! She said she still wants visits from us, and that she’ll still come to our church, but it’ll take time…
LSS, We’ve been super blessed to have so many prayers answered. We’re teaching awesome less-actives, and have a total of 4 new investigators now! I know that it’s through your faith and your prayers that I’m getting more people to teach. So thank you so much for your efforts fam!! :0} I love and miss you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loves and hugs [well…to the girls:)],
