Blisters, Chiggers, Mosquiters and….PADS??

Hello beautiful world!

This week was once again wonderful! I’m finally adjusting to being myself AND a missionary at the same time! Before I was a little bit stiff, but I’m sure that’s normal when you’re moving into a crazy different situation.  It’s kind of exciting because every morning I wake up with a new bug bite on some random spot of my body! It’s like a funny game I play everyday! My feet look so funny with Chigger bites from walking in the grass! I have two blisters on the back of my feet (which is no big deal, really!) but my companion was so cute! She’s like, “Hey, do you need a bandaid for your blisters?…Oh wait…I don’t have a band-aid…but I do have a pad!!” hahahahaha! It totally made our day! We needed something to make us laugh after our long walk. :0)

It was way neat! That catholic family that wanted to get baptized, said they’re really praying hard about it. The mom went to church and prayed to know which church was the true church, and the speaker spoke about….how Christ established the Catholic church….    That stinkin adversary! :S So it was a blasphomous talk but it made her so confused! I promised her that our church doesn’t make you feel confused because the spirit is comforting and sweet. And that the Book of Mormon is either true or false. We bore our testimonies powerfully about how wonderful the Book of Mormon is and that it can help everyone with decisions they need to make. Her and her 2 boys are going on vacation, but she said she will read it and pray about it while she’s out there! yay! :o)

We asked this awesome 21 year old girl in our ward from Liberia, Munah, to invite some of her friends over to her house so we could teach them. They were all Africans and they taught us how to make Plantains! Mmm! But the awesome thing is that we got to make the gospel seem fun and inviting. It was a really neat lesson/testimony meeting. That is the power of BEING A MEMBER MISSIONARY!!! We really need to do a better job. Everyone of us!!!! I will do a way better job at this when I get home!!  But one of her friends was from Zimbabwe who had a friend that went to BYU!! So I asked him what her name was and I TOTALLY KNEW WHO SHE WAS!!! ROSEMARY!!! hahaha! She is sooo fun and I can’t wait to tell her when I get home!!!!   Small worlded Mormons!

Sis. N. and I prayed which street to contact on this week, and we found one called Cimarron!!! Where I lived in New Mexico last summer!! hahah So we felt we should go! There was a man on his front door step outside of our car with a walkie talkie. He thought we looked suspicious cuz we had Iowa plates.  So we started talking to him and his wife and they were totally against listening to us at first. The wife was Wicken and didn’t believe in God, but knew there was a Goddess…. So we bore our testimony about how we knew there was a Heavenly Father who loved her. He has a body just like ours and knows all of our worries and wants us to learn from His son, Jesus Christ. She softened up really quickly. Then we pulled out the BOM and told her to read Alma 19, where Ammon convinces King Lamoni that there is a God. She was TOTALLY against it at first. But my trainer & I kept saying that it can change her life and give her comfort. She like almost started crying and said, “Okay. Okay! I reallly want to read it now!” It was amazing! haha We witnessed a change of heart and it was a true miracle! Other wonderful stories happened too, but I’m all out of time.

My favorite chapter this week is Alma 32!! Yay! How can you not love it?!! Alma 31:36 is a PERFECT explaination of why I give people hi-fives! :0 heehe!

Love you all! Have a great week! AND THANKS FOR YOUR LETTERS!!!

LOVES SISTER TOBIAS!!!
