Those who know Richy, know the guy’s a Peter Breinholt fan… But c’mon, did any of us know how deep this crush really went? I, for one, did not. Not until I saw Richy’s face blush when Peter was in the studio, and that dang toothless grin of his never left his face. (Richy decided not to wear his teeth for Peter, and I was a bit confused until I learned Peter prefers Richy without teeth). It was all making sense.
Richy and I both agree Breinholts music kept us happy (sane) while we were on our missions. (We talk about it in the podcast, and Peter even shares some insights into why certain LDS music artists can sound so similar). But, when Peter plays the song that both Richy and I listened to while missionaries, I saw Richy get a bit teary-eyed. And then…that is when I learned that this isn’t just a one-sided crush! It was time for Peter to head home, but instead, he looked dreamingly at Richy and asked if he could stay for our third block—The Articles of News. I started to wonder why I was even there. After the show, the two shared another hug, talked future plans, and then…gave each other another hug! (What’s going on here?!?) I figured I’d make myself useful by taking a picture. Which I did. Does Richy not look like he’s in love?! That’s what I thought.
Interesting note. The Mission President that Peter references in this story we found out after recording the podcast was President Kohlert…of the Ohio Cleveland Mission 1996-1999…..Richie’s First Mission President!

Nice! Always been a fan of Peter Breinholt…I’ve seen him live at least 5 or 6 times and have been listening to him since I was in junior high! Fun stuff.
